GIVING IMPACT
During 2025, your generosity has enabled:
- 33 new farmers to begin field-side Foundations for Farming (FfF) training in the very poor rural community of Muzinda. They will now be able to grow enough food to feed themselves and their family for a whole year.
- 50 families from the Batwa indigenous community were trained and have already seen remarkable increases in crop yields.
- 48 farmers completed our residential Foundations for Farming training, the majority of whom are now implementing it in their home regions, throughout the nation. Many are already asking to come back this year to be trained as trainers so that they can pass on this revolutionary way of farming to many others in their areas.
- 56 university students were trained in FfF, many of whom will now return to communities across Burundi, equipped to implement and teach this life-changing way of farming and caring for the land.
- 32,886 cups of milk were provided to 126 vulnerable children, every weekday throughout last year—a vital source of nutrition, which is ongoing.
- 720 kgs of porridge were received by children and malnourished and vulnerable adults to support their health and well-being.
- Approximately 300 children were enabled to attend school through the provision of school uniforms and school kits.
- 311 families from three extremely poor communities to receive medical care, providing them with urgent and often life-saving treatment for malaria, typhoid and other tropical diseases.
- 180 families to receive emergency shelter in times of crisis, providing immediate relief and safety when it was needed most.
- As part of our Rebuild, Restore initiative, a further 18 homes have been constructed for some of the poorest and most vulnerable families, making a total of 37 homes that have been built so far. Land has also been obtained for the next 18 houses.
Thank you for partnering with us to enable all these areas of support and empowerment to be maintained and extended.

Rebuild, Restore
Rebuild, Restore is our latest initiative aimed at helping the poorest of the poor and those who’ve suffered injustice to have a home of their own. This will help enable them to rebuild their lives. We have now completed 37 houses, and families have moved in. Without the burden of finding monthly rent, it is already proving transformative for the families in these homes. They now have security, and it’s given them a fresh sense of dignity.
Land has already been purchased for the next 18 houses. These homes are not only a place to live, but also provide a place of safety, reducing incidents of assault and abuse, which are common occurrences for the homeless. One house costs around £5000 to build, which includes an outdoor latrine. Any amount you give will help with providing a family with a permanent home, giving them a much brighter and more secure future. It’s truly life-changing!

Fund a Farmer, feed a nation.
- £15 provides a trainee farmer with a training manual for Foundations for Farming.
- £25 a month funds a farmer to be trained in Foundations for Farming, over the period of one year. It also provides them with a plot of rented land and the seed and equipment needed for them to feed their family for a year at the end of their training.
- A one-off donation of £55 can rent a piece of land 16m x 39m, known as a Pfumvudza plot, which is the size needed by a family for them to feed themselves for an entire year when implementing Foundations for Farming faithfully.
- A one-off donation of £120 can provide a trained farmer with a ‘Pfumvudza Pack’ containing all the seeds and equipment needed to get started. Your donation will also cover the rent of a pfumvudza plot.
